2014 Hugo and Campbell Award Winners Announced

BEST NOVEL

Ancillary Justice, by Ann Leckie (Orbit US / Orbit UK)

Ms. Leckie also won the Nebula Award, the Locus Award and the Arthur C. Clarke Award.  Unfortunately, it is only available as a paperback which makes it much less collectible.  Hopefully, Subterranean Press will print a limited edition signed hardcover book.

Ancillary Sword, second book in the series, will be released in October.  It too, is a paperback.

JOHN W. CAMPBELL AWARD FOR BEST NEW WRITER

Award for the best new professional science fiction or fantasy writer of 2012 or 2013, sponsored by Dell Magazines (not a Hugo Award).

Sofia Samatar

Ms. Samatar’s first novel, A Stranger in Olondria from Small Beer Press, was short-listed for a Locus Award. And it has been short-listed for the World Fantasy Award.

This would be a book to look for and buy.  It does have a starred review.  It’s rating is 45.
