Open City by Teju Cole

Open City is Teju Cole‘s first novel.  Published by Random House, the book will be released on Feb. 8, 2011.  He previously had a novella published in Nigeria.  The current rating for this book is 51.

The Story

The book is about Julius, a Nigerian immigrant and psychiatry, who wanders aimlessly on the streets of Manhattan and ponders events of the last few years.

The Author

Mr. Cole was born and grew up in Lagos, Nigeria.  He moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1992 when he was 17 and has studied art history.  He is a photographer as well as a writer.
